Rhod Walls’ passion for photography was sparked by winning a small local competition as a teenager with an 8x10” hand printed B&W photograph. Since then he has completed a PgCert in Fine Art Photography at Central St.Martins, taken location publicity stills for the BBC, and won the nudes category of Practical Photography magazine’s Photographer of the Year 2007.
His fascination with the craft of photography and the artistic possibilities it entails have led him to explore vintage, pinhole, medium and large format cameras, traditional silver-based hand black and white printing as well as alternative hand processes like agryotypes, printing out paper, and cyanotypes and finally, of course, modern digital SLRs in his work - a small selection of which is shown here.
